John Podhoretz penned a thought provoking commentary for The Corner earlier in the week.
Whatever else you can say about Gore, he has clearly been having the time of his life. I once said, after he first came out swinging against the Evil Right, that he had gone crazy. That was clearly wrong, because I imagined that the Gore of the NAFTA debate and the concession was the real Gore. The ranting and raging Gore, the Old Testament rock star, is clearly the real Gore — and letting that man loose has saved Gore from a representative political life that was tying him up in knots.
Still, I know that deep in his green soul, Al Gore is still gritting his teeth over the loss in 2000. So none of his success causes me any consternation because he was beaten by George Bush- and he knows it. He’ll always know it.

I just read a great column on Gore. I loved it. I think the author has some good insight.
Man, Myth, Legend…
Yes, I agree it is a good column. Of course that might be because the column makes the same points that I have.
Al Gore will never get over 2000, and I’m more than fine with that.
