I hate to double Fred it the first day back…
Posted by: Neocon in 2008 Race, Conservatism, Immigration, The BorderBut this clip from the Fox News debate last night (Sunday) is just tops.
Fred not only addresses this matter seriously, he explains his reasoning well beyond the usual shallowness that characterize this debate format. I would’ve liked some more incredible bluntness tacked on just to grind it home, but I think he did an excellent job answering this question. Too often we analyze these things as political junkies. I think it is answers like this that will go a long way to swaying the quivery soft-spined ‘moderate’ electorate middle.
(h/t: Hot Air) for the debate highlight video.

Now you see why I have been on Team Fred since last December. He is the only non-soundbite thoughtful candidate.
He certainly does have that hippie assaulting allure.
Fred tells it like it is. now if we could just get FOX and CNN to actually mention his name once in a while,…….
I have been a Fredhead since we invoked the draft last year. Everytime I hear Fred speak, it boggles my mind that conservatives and people who claim to be “Reagan Republicans” are not flocking to Fred08 with checkbooks open.
Fred Thompson is THE one candidate who can return the Republican party back into the GRAND OLD party that stood for small government, strong defense, low taxes and no spending. It’s so blatently obvious in everything Thompson says and has written.
Why is it taking so long for people to get it?
I’m on record. I’ve been reading his pieces and listening to his commentaries for months before he entered. He is the only consistent conservative out there. Aside from his “Anti-1st Amd. and incumbent-protection act” support, he applies conservative principles to every issue, and therefore has solutions. The best thing, though, is that he doesn’t pretend that some issues are “problems.” Many things we are told are problems are simply normal market corrections or climate fluctuations that have been around forever. He doesn’t panic, and he doesn’t play little games, like that childish stunt about raising hands to show your allegience to the Al Gore kooks. He doesn’t bow to the MSM, and therefore isn’t their darling. Now that’s how to get the vote in my book.
