We don’t want anyone to feel left out in that stimulus package, do we?
Posted by: Neocon in Domestic, EconomySince Congress and the White House are hard at work doing some hand exercises to help loosen them up for all those checks they’re planning to write in hopes of stimulating the economy, I thought it would be a good idea to refresh everyone on just what Washington considers a “good” economic stimulus package.

Now, as you can see, the economic stimulus package’s most important goal is to secure votes for the Democrat party through the time tested “I want to give you lots of free goodies and stick it to the man” meme. However, there are some key demographics that are being left out of this extra spending money solve nothing free-for-all. But have no fear, the Senate is on the job!
The Senate Finance Committee this week is expected to propose a significant expansion to the economic stimulus bill announced by the White House and House leaders last week, including language that would make millions of Social Security recipients eligible for a tax break.
Apparently those already receiving money from the government in the form of Social Security felt left out, so now they’ll probably get some extra cash too. After all, we can just keep printing the stuff, so why not give them some more? If we’re going to travel down this line of thinking, it seems that there is another key Democratic constituency that is being left out on the cold.
Illegal immigrants pay some level of taxes with stolen social security numbers, they certainly receive services from the government in their times of need, and if the trend of undocumented driver’s licenses and no ID at voting booths continues, they’ll assuredly be the next big voter bonanza for the left. Why, you can even ask stalwart conservative John McCain, and he’ll tell you that they’re an integral part of our economy. Everyone else (except for the people who actually pay the bulk of the taxes) are getting in on the economic band-aid, so why aren’t we throwing them a little extra cash to help boost things? If we don’t, we might have to pick our country’s lettuce ourselves for $50 an hour. Now that would be disastrous!
Look for the Democrats for forget that tax cuts (or ‘rebates’) are a sound strategy in principle for boosting the economy come general election time. If there was any real interest in keeping the economy going, they’d all be for extending the Bush tax cuts which promoted legitimate economic growth, not the slapdash feel-good nothingness we’re eventually going to see here.
