Alexham over at Redstate shares this thought:

I don’t know about the rest of y’all, but [Obama] freakin’ scares me to death.

I don’t agree with the vast majority of his public-policy positions, and yet I still find myself getting sucked in when he speaks.

I understand all of the reasons why Obama shouldn’t win the presidency even if he ends up being the dem nominee, but something tells me we should all start praying that the She-Devil pulls this thing out.

Otherwise, I am afraid we’re going to be back in the wilderness for another eight years.

I’ve never been sucked into an Obama speech, but I share the sentiment. People seem to be captivated by his candidacy, even when he has nothing to say beyond his standard stump about hope for America. What we should really be concerned about is what exactly he is hoping for, because he hasn’t let that cat out of the bag yet.

Another major concern with Obama is the massive number of new voters who are being drawn in by his campaign. You would need a truly inspiring candidate on the right to bring out the Republican vote in comparable numbers, and McCain certainly isn’t one. None of those who were running this cycle could fire up the base or anyone else for that manner. It is through the indecisiveness of the party that McCain has been able to slip through.

We really do need to run against Hillary in order to have a shot, even with the supposed ‘moderate drawing power’ of McCain. We need her so badly that I’ve begun to seriously consider voting in my state’s Democratic primary to do my part in making sure that it isn’t a runaway Obama victory in November.

But on the main point, yes. Be afraid, be very afraid.
