She said it TWICE and she meant it. Also, life doesn’t suck, so stop demanding that it does.
Posted by: Neocon in 2008 Race, Media Bias, ObamaAs you can see from the previous Michelle Obama post, there was some confusion as to what she actually said in regards to her American pride.
From Gateway Pundit and Jawa Report we can clear that up.
I previously referenced the audio glitch as causing some of the confusion– there is a pop in some of the videos that distorted the word ‘really’ in her Madison appearance. But it goes beyond that, she gave the same speech twice. It was a planned statement and if we’re to believe the excuses from the Obama camp about her meaning the political climate, then why didn’t she just scribble that modifier in there along with her distaste for the country?
Because she really meant she hasn’t been proud of America.
Don’t confuse what I mean by that. Some pundits are saying it is ludicrous to say that someone has never been proud of America. That isn’t where the criticism is coming from. Obviously she has to have felt marginally good about something in her life. What I mean is that we’ve seen the real Obama campaign here. At its heart is a group of people that while they understand previous things that have been beneficial to the country have occured, they has never been inspired by them. The Cold War ending means nothing to Michelle Obama. The resilience after 9/11 means nothing. They don’t care about these things because they didn’t directly benefit them. Apparently unless Barack was the center of attention, record voter turnouts don’t matter. We had them during the 2004 Presidential elections and we had them during the 2002 elections.
It is indifference to the things that have made this country great that annoys those of us complaining. The indifference to the unabashed good that the United States (and our politics as well!) have done. The Obama campaign’s determination to tell you that things are s#%! right now, and only the Savior Barack can lift us out of our muck.
As the poll shows today, life is good! People are happy with their lives! Obama is selling a vision of a broken America full of hate. We don’t hate. We want politicians who live in the real world and want to solve real problems (y’know, like winning a war) instead of someone who looks at our past with disgust.
