I was looking over the blogroll this afternoon as I’ve had a busy morning and had to neglect blogging up until now, and I noticed that Pamela over at Atlas Shrugs had a slogan for John McCain in response to how apparent it is that Obama would be a presidential disaster.

MY SLOGAN FOR JOHN MCCAIN: JOHN MCCAIN, BECAUSE THE ALTERNATIVE IS UNTHINKABLE.

I had created a line of twenty or thirty War on Terror McCain Bumper Stickers a few weeks ago for sale on Cafepress and one of them is similar to this slogan. I focused on the War on Terror for the bumper stickers because there aren’t many other issues for Conservatives to rally behind McCain on. The Global War on Terror (by extension, Iraq) is the singular issue we can get out and support him enthusiastically on. My similar slogan was “McCain 2008: Because the other option would be unthinkable.”

When I noticed how close these were, I immediately fired off an e-mail to Pamela to make sure she knew that I wasn’t trying to steal taglines from her. I also felt that it was only right to make sure I offered up a link to Atlas Shrugs here and a post to explain the similarity. I adore Atlas Shrugs and think it’s one of the top blogs out there. If you aren’t already a regular reader there, you don’t have an excuse now.

Besides, if you like Neocon News, you’ll love Atlas Shrugs. As this incident shows, great minds think alike!
