A note on crossing over to vote on the Dark side.
Posted by Neocon in 2008 Race, Hillary, ObamaAllahpundit has a post on it, I’ve been hearing the calls into talk radio over the last few weeks, and others have mentioned it in their blog posts. So I’ll give you the skinny from my perspective one more time.
When I go to the polls this Tuesday, I’ll be voting for Hillary Clinton. I’m a Republican and I voted for George Dubya Bush. I’ll be supporting our moderate Straight Talker in the General, but I don’t think he’ll have half the shot against Obama that he would against Hillary. It’s that simple. I wrote a post about this a week or two ago, chiding voters who might cross over to put the stake in Hillary’s heart. It’s foolish and short-sided.
Obama’s supporters are not going to wake up. He will actually be able to turn out the vote as he’s been able to do in the primary. His supporters don’t care about the facts, they don’t care about experience, and they certainly don’t care about foreign policy.
Bottom line? If some wacky situation ever gets you stuck in the woods with a single bullet left, you don’t shoot at the ragged old skunk instead of the young boisterous wolf. Sure, the skunk is going to leave a stink on you for months, and you’ll be smelling it all the way up to November, but if you drop the has-been you can bet the wolf is going to leap for your throat. In fact, he might just be the charismatic yet vapid leader of a whole pack… then you’d be in real trouble.
