New McCain ad muddled but superhero-y
Posted by: Neocon in 2008 Race, Foreign Policy, McCainMcCain’s biography tour has mostly stayed out of the headlines, and I’m not sure where these spots are running, but the most recent ad that his team has put out is much better than their previous work in my opinion.
Allahpundit at Hot Air, who linked to the video, sees it as too long and too full. Some of the commenters see it as McCain’s stab at renewing patriotism. There is also a growing theory that this tour is meant to contrast McCain’s righteous early influences with Obama’s radical relations, and not just wacky reverend Wright as Gateway details another fresh Obamatroversy. That makes sense and it meshes with McCain’s more under-the-radar attack approach given his stated desire for a “respectful” race.
Personally the second half plays like a superhero movie trailer. John McCain will never quit. No humiliation can destroy him. He is dedicated to truth, justice, and the American way. I dig it, I just hope the rest of the country does too.
They still need to work on their running times though. Three minutes is just too long.
