The truest words spoken at the last presidential debate
Posted by Neocon in 2008 Race, McCain, Obama, RoveCall it a Freudian slip or the divine interceding to put words in our Maverick’s mouth, John McCain christened Barack Obama ‘Senator Government’ tonight. I think it’s a moniker that suits our would-be socialist Messiah just fine. Maybe the Obama campaign will be confident enough to just adopt the truth in their propaganda posters in the final days of the race…

Recollecting on it, McCain hasn’t been awake enough lately to toss out a gem that good by design so it must’ve been a mistake. Ah well, a man can dream of a worthy candidate to pull the lever for.
Apparently I’m not the only one who spilled their popcorn over this one.
As for the debate itself? Everyone in the post-debate spin seems to be under the delusional impression that our favorite Maverick™ could have said or done anything to merit the media calling it a win or a ‘game changer’ for him. Obama could have declared that he was replacing Biden with Ayers tonight and it wouldn’t have made a difference in the media template. We’ll just have to wait and see what the American public does in November.

Although I didn’t exactly spill my popcorn I found myself repeating over and over again “Finally” or “It’s about time.” McCain won the debate pure and simple. He won the first one, lost the second one because they made a fool out of him by implying it was a “town hall debate” when it was nothing of the sort and Brokaw chose the questions and agenda. I remain optimistic because with the economy in the toilet, in the year of changing the guard after 8 years of a Republican, in a year where anything that can go wrong, did go wrong as far as the current events, Obama has still not closed the deal. I don’t care what anyone says… Sarah Palin will cause more people to vote for the ticket than will be admitted to any pollster. The same applies to telling a pollster you’re voting for McCain and having to explain it or telling him or her you’re voting for Obama or you’re undecided. Does anyone out there in cyberspace actually believe there are that many undecideds? The logical conclusion is that they are voting for McCain but are withholding that information for many reasons. Also I looked at the past presidential election polling and every single one of them was 6 to 9 points off and in every instance it either favored the democrat or reduced the actual vote for the Republican candidate.
